Viral Therapy for Cancer

When Dad was first diagnosed with lung cancer, my sister Lisa and I scrambled to find out what treatments were available, other than the slash-and-burn approach of radiation and chemotherapy. We found something at the Ottawa Hospital Research Institute; a Dr. John Bell was getting ready to take an oncolytic viral therapy to clinical trial, and since his email was posted on the OHRI's website, I started writing to him about Dad. Dr. Bell encouraged us to keep in touch on a monthly basis, since the wheels of the bureaucracy surrounding clinical trials turned slowly. But FEH died before the trials began...
